On 18th March 2018, Castleton Brass headed to Stevenage for the London and Southern Counties Regional Contest. Unfortunately, we didn’t do as well as we’d hoped, and we came 18th. As a band, we are extremely proud of what we have achieved, having been promoted two years running using only our own players, but unfortunately this time it wasn’t to be. This is the first year that we have contested and haven’t qualified for the Finals in Cheltenham, but we aim to come back better and stronger for the Regionals in 2019.
On Sunday 18th March 2018, Castleton Brass will once again be heading to the Regional Contest in Stevenage. This time, following our promotion last year, we will be competing in the Second Section. We’re hoping to make history as the first band to win the Fourth, Third and Second Sections in consecutive years at the London and Southern Counties Contest. As added encouragement, the band have recently been featured in the Diss Express newspaper.

On Sunday 17th September 2017, Castleton Brass competed in the National Brass Band Championships in Cheltenham. It was the third year running that we qualified, but the first time we qualified in the Third Section. We are extremely proud that the band claimed Fourth place!
We would like to thank everyone who supported us on our journey to this success, and we look forward to the new challenges that the Second Section brings in March 2018.
