2019 Area Contest

On Sunday 17th March, the band travelled to Stevenage for the annual London and Southern Counties Brass Band Contest. We played in the 2nd Section, against 17 other bands, and are proud to announce that we came 8th! The band played really well, and we would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and determination, but especially Pete, our Musical Director. Our result means that we have also secured our position in the 2nd section for 2020.

2018 Regionals

On 18th March 2018, Castleton Brass headed to Stevenage for the London and Southern Counties Regional Contest. We had an exciting day and we gave it our all, but in the heat of the much more demanding second section, we did not qualify for the finals in September of this year.
The whole band is extremely proud of what we have achieved in the past three years. Using only our own players, we have been promoted two years in succession from 4th to 2nd section, and we have qualified in three successive years for the Finals in Cheltenham
So we are not downhearted! Next year we will be back, better and stronger, for the Regionals in 2019.

Heading to the Regionals, and in the News!

On Sunday 18th March 2018, Castleton Brass will once again be heading to the Regional Contest in Stevenage. This time, following our promotion last year, we will be competing in the Second Section. We’re hoping to make history as the first band to win the Fourth, Third and Second Sections in consecutive years at the London and Southern Counties Contest. As added encouragement, the band have recently been featured in the Diss Express newspaper.

2017 National Finals

On Sunday 17th September 2017, Castleton Brass competed in the National Brass Band Championships in Cheltenham. It was the third year running that we qualified, but the first time we qualified in the Third Section. We are extremely proud that the band claimed Fourth place!

We would like to thank everyone who supported us on our journey to this success, and we look forward to the new challenges that the Second Section brings in March 2018.
